Metamorphosis of Narcissus
I take for granted the contention of R G Collingwood that history and philosophy are the same thing, that inquiry into the facts of life in the past and the analysis of the concepts which shape human minds and purposes are alike moral and historical. The point of all such inquiries is to discover, and to teach others to discover, how the world we have lost forms the thoughts that we have, and how those thoughts may best be directed to the wellbeing of our common wealth and the world which is our only home.
